Shirley C. Resseguie

WATERTOWN, N.Y.  —  Shirley C. Resseguie, 83, of County Route 66, passed away Sunday, July 1, at a cottage at Duck Harbor, Chaumont.

Born Feb. 3, 1929, in Watertown, the daughter of Kenneth and Viola Keyes Smith, she graduated from Watertown High School.

She married Howard J. Resseguie on Nov. 27, 1948, at the Church of the Redeemer in Watertown.

The couple lived in the town of Hounsfield. Howard passed away July 13, 2009.

Shirley was Head Cashier at P & C. Supermarkets in Watertown until retiring in 1987.  

She was a member of Harold Townsend Post American Legion Auxiliary of Sackets Harbor.

Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Sherry and Joel Derouin, Sackets Harbor; a son and his wife, Charley and Amy Resseguie, Dexter; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a sisterm Sally Countryman, Chaumont; a brother, Donald Smith, Glen Park; and nieces and nephews.

A granddaughter April Resseguie died in 1993. Two brothers, Robert and Daniel Smith, also died before her.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 6, at Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. Burial will be in Sulphur Springs Cemetery. Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 5.
