Albert N. Henry

LOWVILLE, N.Y.  —  Albert N. Henry, 78, of Lowville Heights, Railroad Street, died early Friday, July 11, at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Utica. 

A funeral Mass will be said 10 a.m. Monday, July 14, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Lowville with Rev. James Vacco, OFM, officiating. Burial will follow in Lowville Rural Cemetery. A gathering at St. Peter’s Church Hall will follow the burial. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.  

Contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 5457 Shady Ave., Lowville, NY  13367.  

Born July 2, 1930, in Lowville, a son of Francis and Raphaella Magra Henry, he graduated from Lowville Academy in 1949. Following graduation, he worked at his parent’s hotel, Henry’s Hotel, in Lowville.  

He married Madeline A. Kellar on June 22, 1953, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Monsignor John A. Cotter officiating. 

Mr. Henry purchased his parent’s hotel in 1960, and together with his wife, the couple owned and operated the hotel until 1989, upon retirement. 

He was a communicant of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Lowville, and was a third degree member of Rev. C.J. McMorrow Council #781 Knights of Columbus, Lowville.  He was a past member of the National Rifle Association, and a member of BPOE #1605, Lowville Lodge. 

Mr. Henry
enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, traveling and spending time with his family.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Madeline; a son, Shawn D. Henry, Watertown; a daughter and her husband, Kimberly A. and Kris Bibey, Kent, Ohio; a sister, Sister Mary Martha Henry of Sisters of St. Joseph, Watertown; a brother and his wife, Patrick and Ruth Henry, Germany; a grandson, Khristopher Bibey; nieces, nephews and cousins.  

He was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey R. Henry, who died in July, 1974; a brother, Paul F. Henry; three sisters, Gabriella Sullivan, Loretta Triance, and Thelma Kopczenski.
