Mary K. Petroske

WATERTOWN, N.Y.  —  Mary K. Petroske, 92, formerly of Columbia Street, passed away Thursday, July 21, at the Samaritan Keep Nursing Home where she had been a resident. 

Born Oct. 20, 1918, in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada, a daughter of George and Anna Sweeney Hough, she attended schools in Cornwall. 

She married Alfonse Petroske in 1943 at Holy Family Church with Rev. Dugan officiating. Mr. Petroske died in 1970. 

Mrs. Petroske was employed by the Woodruff Hotel for many years in the housekeeping department. 

She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Columbiettes and enjoyed playing darts. 

She was a communicant of Holy Family Church. 

Surviving are a sister, Bertha ‘Birdie’ Gross, The Villages, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. 

A son, David, a brother and a sister, Myrtle Johnson, all died before her. 

There will be no calling hours. A funeral mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday July 25, at Holy Family Church with Reverend Leo Wiley officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
