— Marion Q. Jackson, 89, of Clayton,
died Wednesday, Sept. 16, in Watertown.
She was born in Gananoque, Ontario, August 19, 1920, daughter of Frederick and Catherine Rotter Quinsey. She attended schools in Gananoque, Cape Vincent, and graduated from Clayton High School.
She married Clark B. Jackson on Aug. 16, 1939, in Cape Vincent with Rev. Roger F. Williams officiating. They lived in Syracuse briefly during
World War II and returned to Clayton after the war.
Mrs. Jackson worked in the Clayton office as correspondent of the Thousand Island Sun/On the St. Lawrence and later conducted public opinion surveys for several national public opinion survey companies.
She retired from Beamcast, a Syracuse public relations and marketing company specializing in the food industry. She traveled throughout Central and Northern New York, coordinating specialized product displays and working with store management.
In retirement, she became affiliated with a travel agency in Canada and made travel arrangements for clients in the river communities.
Mr. Jackson was an enthusiastic traveler having visited on one or more occasions Europe, Russia, the Middle East, Africa, China, Australia, New Zealand, and South America. She had also traveled throughout much of the United States including Hawaii and Alaska.
Mr. Jackson died in 1986.
Surviving are a son, Frederick, and his wife, Linda, Mt. Dora, Fla.; three granddaughters, Felicia and Brian Hull, Alene Jackson and Taylor Drake, and Dina and James
Glen; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Dray, Rochester,
N.Y.; and three nephews.
There will be no calling hours. There will be a memorial service 4 p.m. Saturday,
Sept. 26, at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc. in Clayton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Clayton Fire Department, Graves St., or Thousand Islands Emergency Rescue Service, Inc. (T. I. E. R. S.), P. O. Box 524, both in Clayton, NY 13624.
