Timothy R. Nolan

WATERTOWN, N.Y.  —  A prayer service for Timothy R. Nolan will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home followed by an 11 a.m. funeral Mass at Holy Family Church with Rev. Steven Murray, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, at the funeral home.  

Contributions may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County.

Mr. Nolan, 71, died Saturday evening at his home on South Hamilton St. under the care of Hospice and a dedicated group of care givers under the direction of Louise Farrington.

Born March 23, 1938, in Watertown, a son of Edgar J. and Gertrude Leso Nolan, he graduated in 1956 from Watertown High School.  Tim received an Associates degree from Canton ATI in Electrical Technology.  

Following his college graduation, he was hired by the Bell Laboratories in New Jersey.  He was an active member of his community in Lake Parsippany, N.J.  Following his retirement from Bell Labs in 2003, he returned to Watertown.

Mr. Nolan was a communicant of Holy Family Church.  

His hobby was collecting and repairing antique watches and clocks.

Surviving are a brother and his wife, James P. and Kiyoko, Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister-in-law, Jill Nolan, Watertown; several nieces and nephews.  

Five brothers, Michael and Anthony, both died in 1995, William, died in 2007, Raymond and Jonathan, both died in infancy.
