Steven R. Davis

THERESA, N.Y.  —  Steven R. Davis, 52, passed away Friday morning, Oct. 9, at his home in Theresa with his family and friends at his side.

Calling hours will be held 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Oct., 12, at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., 214 Sterling St., Watertown. The funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, at the funeral home with Pastor Donald Briant, Clayton United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Theresa.

Born March 5, 1957, in Watertown, the son of Raymond C. and Joan M. Smith Davis, he graduated in 1976 from Indian River High School. 

He married Jean B. MacDonald on June 29, 1996, at their home in Theresa.

He had worked as a truck driver for the town of Theresa, Anchor Motor Freight, Borello Trucking, and Graham's Construction. From Nov. 1994 until the present, he was employed by NYS Department of Transportation as an equipment operator and tractor trailer driver.

Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing, and helping out anyone in need. 

He especially enjoyed his beloved dogs and cats.

He was a former member of the Odd Fellows Lakeside Lodge #328, Redwood, and a former league bowler in Theresa and Clayton.

Besides his wife, Jean, and his parents, Raymond and Joan, he is survived by his two sisters and their husbands, Katherine M. and Michael C. Cupernall, Clayton, and Joan E. "Tootie" and James E. Church, Raleigh, N.C.; a brother, William G. Davis, town of Macomb; three nieces, two nephews; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; and many dear friends and in-laws.
