Leslie W. Black, 75, of East Line Rd., died Monday
afternoon, Nov. 5, at his home.
A graveside service will be held noon Thursday, Nov. 8, in
Grove Cemetery, LaFargeville.
Arrangements are with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc.,
Clayton.
Born Dec. 4, 1936, on Grindstone Island, a son of Lawrence
E. and Catherine E. Sulier Black, he went to school on
Grindstone Island until grade 7, and graduated from
LaFargeville High School.
He married Sharon A. Alton on April 14, 1956, in Theresa.
Leslie had worked for Knowlton Bros., Watertown, for 23
years and for Crowley Food, LaFargeville for 25 years as a
maintenance man for both businesses.
He was Methodist and a Mason.
He loved his garden, his outdoor kitchen, and had a special
love for the River and fishing. But his greatest love was
his family and his beloved dog, Scooter.
Besides his wife, Sharon, he is survived by his three
children, Debbie and Brian Dudley, Tolland, CT, Kathy Black
and her companion, Becky Atnip, LaFargeville, and Steve and
Amy Black, Clayton; five grandchildren Jon, Jessica, Sarah,
Derick, and Doug; his three great grandchildren, Chloe, Kole,
and Brielle; his four brothers, Robert E. and Lena,
Depauville, Norman R. and Cindy, Seneca Falls, Gary D. and
Sue, Dexter, and Richard J. and Pam, Watertown; two
sisters-in-law, Joan Black, LaFargeville and Carol Black,
Depauville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Two brothers, John L. and Leo W. Black, both died before
him.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations in his name
to TIERS, P.O. Box 524, Clayton, NY 13624.
