WATERTOWN, N.Y.  —  William H. Stitt, 65, of 149 Keyes Ave., died Wednesday evening at his home from injuries sustained in a fire at his residence. 

Mr. Stitt was a Staff Sgt. with the Air Force serving in Vietnam, Turkey and Thailand.  He retired in 1982 after 20 years of service.  

He worked with the MWR office at Fort Drum following his retirement.  

Mr. Stitt had previously lived in California. 

Born May 6, 1944, in Watertown, a son of William and Leone Gaines Stitt, he graduated from Watertown High School. 

He is survived by a sister, Barbara DeShane, Chaumont; two half brothers, Dale Duffy and Terrance Duffy, both of Watertown; nieces and nephews. 

Two sisters, Dawn and Sandra Stitt, died before him. 

Services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery following cremation.
