Pauline VanSlyke, 97,
died Sunday afternoon at the Country Manor Nursing &
Rehabilitation Center where she had been a resident for over
ten years.
She was born
July 31, 1915, in Colton, the daughter of Charles and Ellen
Bruce Snyer.
Her husband, Donald, died in 1976.
She was the owner and operator of VanSlyke’s Restaurant on
Outer State Street in Carthage.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Ann
Greene, Fort Myers, Fla., as well as her nieces, Pauline
Davis, Massena, Charlene Reed, Norfolk, and Nancey Fraser,
Boone, North Carolina.
Services
for Mrs. VanSlyke will be private.
Burial will take place in Swinburne Cemetery, Deer
River.
