— Mary
E. McGraw, 90, of 316 N. Washington St., died Saturday
afternoon, Nov. 10, in the Skilled Nursing Unit of the
Carthage Area Hospital where she has resided since
May.
Born March 22, 1922, in Carthage, the daughter of the late
Charles S. and Mabel A. Gonyou Raycraft, she graduated in
1939 from Carthage High School.
She married John M. McGraw on Sept. 3, 1940, in the rectory
of St. James Church. Mr. McGraw, former Village Clerk of
Carthage for many years, died Sept. 18, 1992.
Mary was a clerk with the former Grants Store, Clark Johnson
Store and Marge's Dress Shop, all in Carthage.
She was a member of St. James Church and former board member
of the Carthage Free Library.
Surviving are a son, David J. McGraw, West Carthage; a
daughter, Joan Bender, Williamsburg, Va.; four grandchildren
and four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
A son, Vincent P. McGraw, and a brother, Charles Raycraft,
both died before her.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at
St. James Catholic Church with the Rev. George F. Maroun, pastor,
officiating. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. A calling
hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the
Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home, Carthage.
