— Lovenia
E. Clark, 100, formerly of Clayton, died Saturday, Nov. 17,
at Crest Manor Living & Rehabilitation Center, Fairport.
Calling hours will be held noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20,
at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton, followed by the
2 p.m. funeral service at the funeral home with Rev. Arthur
LaBaff, St. Mary's Church, officiating. Burial will be in
St. Lawrence Cemetery, town of Cape Vincent.
Born April 12, 1912, in Harrisville, the daughter of Charles
G. and Evelyn Turcotte Clark, she attended schools in
Harrisville and Clayton.
She had worked at the Clayton Bathing Suit Factory and ran a
boarding house out of her home on Franklin Street for many
years.
During World War II she was a volunteer look-out for enemy
planes.
She had also been a communicant of St. Mary's Church,
Clayton.
Surviving are several cousins, especially Julie Cole,
Clayton, and three siblings who were like children to her,
Jack LaLonde and Vaida Palmeri, both of Rochester, and Gary
LaLonde, Clayton.
Two half-brothers, Hiram and Ivan Clark, and a half-sister,
Mildred Weeks, all died before her.
