— Sally
M. Radley, 76, of Carleton Drive, Cape Vincent, passed away
Sunday, Dec. 23, at her home.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at
Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown, with Rev. Toby
Schilling officiating. Spring burial will be in Clayton
Cemetery.
There are no calling hours.
Born Sept. 10, 1936, in Clayton, the daughter of Irwin and
Jessie McRae Turcotte, she graduated from Clayton Central
School and Watertown School of Commerce.
She married John L. Gokey on July 14, 1956, in Clayton and
the marriage ended in divorce. She then married Lionel A.
Radley, Sr. on Aug. 18, 1972 in Cape Vincent, and he died
Jan. 20, 2008.
Sally had been employed by NYS Department of Transportation
as a draftsman and New York Telephone Co. as a
secretary.
She was a member for 37 years of the Cape Vincent American
Legion Auxiliary.
Mrs. Radley enjoyed reading, canning, and sitting by the St.
Lawrence River. She was an avid traveler, having visited all
50 states and wintering in Tombstone, Ariz., but her most
favorite past-time was spending time with family and
friends.
Surviving are her three daughters and their spouses,
Victoria and Patrick LaBarge, Copenhagen, Deborah and
Richard Kehoe, Black River, and Patricia and Kyle Barton,
Clayton; five stepdaughters, Susan and Darnel Oliver, Tenn.,
Judy Rienbeck, Canton, Gloria "Jean" and John
Comins, Rochester, Patricia "Patsy" and Will
Dudley, Colo., and Karen and Ed Bagenski, N.M.; four
stepsons, Lionel and Linda Radley, Jr., DeRuyter, Harry and
Gail Radley, Rochester, Lysle and Debbie Radley and Jarvis
and Jolene Radley, all of Cape Vincent; several
grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and
cousins.
A sister, Elaine Hill, and two brothers, Donald and Joseph
Turcotte, all died before her.
The family wishes to thank her dedicated caregivers that
enabled her to remain in her home on the River.
