Juanita M.
"Nita" Bowman, 82, of Bare Foot Bay, Florida
passed away on Sunday, Dec. 23, at the Nursing Care by
Angels Assisted Living Facility in Palm Bay, Fla., where she
had been a patient since March 2011.
Born Feb. 26, 1930, in Bombay, N.Y., the daughter of Bernice
Francey and James Love, she graduated in 1947 from Bombay
High School and the Watertown School of Commerce in 1949.
She married Roswell Bowman on April 18, 1953, at St. James
Catholic Church in Carthage.
The couple lived in Carthage for a short time and moved to
Deferiet in 1961 where they resided until moving to Bare
Foot Bay, Florida in 1994. They spent their summer months at
their cottage on Lake Bonaparte until 2006.
Over the course of her career, Nita had worked with the
Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, DC; The NY
Air Brake Company in Watertown and completed a 28 year
career with the Federal Government (Fort Drum) as Property
Book Officer and Chief of the Supply Office. She retired on
Feb. 23, 1990.
Surviving are her husband Roswell, Bare Foot Bay, Fla.; two
sons, David (Mary), Clayton, and Robert (Michelle), Beaver
Falls; six grandchildren, Bryanne, Hamilton, Colby, Massena,
Keegan, Beaver Falls, Mark, Arlington, Va., Brian,
Rochester, and Daniel, Clayton; three siblings; Daryl Love,
Bath, Sandra Love, Moira, and Blaine Love, Sneads Ferry, N.C.
There will be no calling hours.
Internment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in
Evans Mills at the convenience of the family.
Local arrangements are with Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home,
Carthage.
