Rita L. Gowan

WATERTOWN, N.Y.  —  Rita L. Gowan, 64, of LeRay Street, Watertown died Monday, Dec. 24, at Samaritan Medical Center. 

Born March 30, 1948, in Cortland, N.Y., a daughter of the late Clesson and the late Ruth Secord Bush, she graduated in 1966 from Indian River Central School.

She worked as an insurance underwriter for several businesses in the Watertown area, including New York Casualty and North Country Cooperative.

Mrs. Gowan was a fifty year member of the Antwerp American Legion Auxiliary.

She was an avid New York  Yankee and Dallas Cowboys fan, and enjoyed reading.

Survivors include a sister, Virginia Shaw, Antwerp; a brother, C. Douglas Bush, Henderson, NV; two nieces; four nephews; and several cousins.

There will be no services.
