— Isabelle
VanDeWater, 82, of 1108 Farnsworth Rd. S., Rochester, and
formerly of Watertown, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 25, at
Woodside Manor in Brighton, N.Y.
Mrs. VanDeWater was born April 9, 1930, in Watertown, a
daughter of Anthony and Concetta Leonzio Piattelli.
She married John C. “Jack” VanDeWater on June 19, 1949,
at St. Anthony’s Rectory with Msgr. Claude Sechi
officiating. Mr. VanDeWater died Jan. 23, 2001.
Mrs. VanDeWater was employed with M.H. Fishman’s Variety
Store in Watertown. She retired from F.W. Woolworth's as an
office manager in Penfield on Jan. 16, 1994. After her
retirement she was a part time office manager for the Home
Place in Penfield.
She was a member of the Penfield Antique Gun Club and
enjoyed gardening, antiques, reading and her family.
Surviving are a sister and her husband, Edith and Roy
Heaslip, Watertown; three nephews and a niece-in-law, Steven
Heaslip, Manlius, Scott and Anne Greene, and Alan Greene,
all of Rochester; a niece and her husband, Kathleen and
David Lunman, Watertown; four great nieces and nephews,
Shannon Heaslip, Adam Greene, Lucas Heaslip and Melissa
Greene, a great great nephew, Chase Koch.
A nephew, Jeffrey Heaslip, in 1995, a brother, Vincent
Piattelli in 1951, and a sister, Amelia “Mollie” Greene,
in 1985, all died before her.
Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at D.L.
Calarco Funeral Home, Inc. A prayer service will be held
12:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at the funeral home with Rev.
Donald Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood
Cemetery.
