Loren L. Virkler

CROGHAN, N.Y.  ó  Loren Lowell Virkler, 56, of Kirschnerville Road, died Friday afternoon, Dec. 28.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1, at Apostolic Christian Church of America, Croghan, with Ministers of the Church, officiating. Burial will be in Apostolic Christian Cemetery. Calling hours are 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville. Contributions may be made to a charity of oneís choice.

Born Dec. 17, 1956, in Watertown, a son of Lowell Richard and Celia Ruth Beck Virkler, he graduated in 1975 from Beaver River Central School.

Loren worked on and took over the family farmís operation. He was a life-long farmer and maple producer. He hauled spruce pulp for many years.

Mr. Virkler attended Apostolic Christian Church of America, Croghan. He was a member of the New York State Maple Producerís Association. 

Loren was a supporter of the organ donor program.

Loren enjoyed the outdoors and hunting. He loved his family. His boys and grandsons were his pride and joy. Loren was always cheerful. He loved people young and old, and enjoyed helping others, lending a helping hand when needed.

He is survived by his companion, Carol Anson; three sons, Bradley Joseph Virkler, Penfield, Daniel Sydney Virkler, Croghan, and Jay Walter Virkler, Croghan; his parents, Lowell and Celia Virkler, Croghan; two sisters and their husbands, Linda M. and Floyd Graves Jr., Croghan, and Linette J. and Joseph P. Bush, Lowville; two grandsons, Derek and Jason Virkler; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
