Laurie
S. DeShane, 43, of 14480 Hands Flat Road, and her daughter,
Kendra L. DeShane, 20, of 5503 Naumburg Lane, Castorland,
died Saturday, Dec. 29, after being involved in a traffic
accident on Route 26 in the town of LeRay.
Laurie was born in Lowville on June 16, 1969, the daughter
of the late Milton and Irma LaVancha Luther Sr. She attended
school in Harrisville. She married Stephen R. DeShane on
June 20, 1992 in Gouverneur. She was currently working as an
assistant manager with the Stewart's Shop in Great Bend.
She
is survived by her husband, Stephen R., Harrisville;
a daughter, Krista DeShane, Harrisville, one son: Kevin
Sears Jr., Harrisville; two step sons, Stephen DeShane Jr.
of Zephyrhills, Fla., and Shane DeShane, Gouverneur, a
grandson, Lukas LaLone; and two step grandchildren Stephen
and Samantha DeShane, five sisters, Joyce Buckley of
Barrington, NJ, Juanita Fazekas of Turin, Debbie Ward of
Remsen, Marie Hutton of Fowler and Denise Sawyer of
Depaulville; a brother, Milton Luther Jr., Albany; and
several nieces and nephews.
Kendra
was born on Sept. 22, 1992, in Carthage, the daughter of
Stephen R. and Laurie Luther DeShane. She was a 2012
graduate of Carthage Central High School and was currently
working at the Stewart’s Shop in Lowville.
She is survived by her companion, Christopher Brundage,
Castorland, and his children, Alyssa and Gage Brundage; her father, Stephen R. DeShane,
Harrisville; a sister, Krista DeShane, Harrisville; a
brother, Kevin Sears Jr., Harrisville; two step brothers,
Stephen DeShane Jr.; Zephyrhills, Fla., and Shane DeShane,
Gouverneur; a nephew, Lukas LaLone; a step niece:
Samantha DeShane; and step nephew, Stephen DeShane; and
several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services for Laurie and Kendra will be held 2 p.m.
Thursday, Jan. 3, at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home,
Carthage, with Lori Hickey officiating.
Burial will be in Harrisville Cemetery. Calling hours will
precede the funeral from the hours of 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Thursday at the funeral home.
