Robert G. Fitch, 89,
Syracuse, and long-time summer resident of Alexandria Bay,
died Saturday, Dec. 29, at the VA Medical Center in
Syracuse.
Born March 5, 1923, in Syracuse, the son of Erwin and Eva
Barton Fitch, he was educated in Syracuse schools. He served
in the United States Army from June 22, 1943, until Feb. 2,
1946.
He married Anne Bookman on May 16, 1948, at St. Patrick’s
Church in Syracuse with Fr. Robert J. Casey officiating.
Mrs. Fitch passed away on Jan. 5, 2010
Robert was the president of
Syracuse Frame Service Inc., Syracuse, retiring in
1985.
He was a member of the Liederkranz Club in Syracuse, the
Alexandria Bay Rotary Club, and the Oswego (NY) Elks Club.
Surviving are his sons, Donald R. and his wife, Mary,
Oswego, and Frederick R, with whom he had resided in
Syracuse; and a granddaughter, Chelsea Fitch.
A sister, Catherine Perry, and three brothers, Clifford,
Richard, and Donald, predeceased him.
