WATERTOWN, NY -- Daniel F. Burgess, 79, of Kelsey Creek Apts., longtime local radio and television personality, died Thursday morning at the Whispering Pines Adult Home where he was a resident since November of last year.

He was born Daniel F. Bonacci in Rochester, October 3, 1925, a son of Michael and Mary Anania Bonacci. He graduated from Franklin High School in Rochester and from Ithaca College. His broadcasting career started in Cortland, NY then to WMSA in Massena, and finally to WWNY in Watertown. 2 marriages ended in divorce.

He is survived by 4 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Terry and Kathy, Watertown, Michael and Kate, Delmar, Christian and Tyler, both of Toronto. 6 grandchildren. 2 brothers, Pete Lewis, Auburn, George Bonacci, Rochester. One sister, Mary Guenther, Rochester. Several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Gregory Benson, and 2 sisters, Bonnie Costello and Jay Manfredi.

A prayer service will be Saturday 9 a.m. at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home followed by a funeral mass at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Church with Rev. Steven Murray and Rev. Christopher Looby, con-celebrating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 3 p.m. 8 p.m. at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Family Church or to the Little Theatre of Watertown.
