Ann B. Fitch

ALEXANDRIA BAY, N.Y.  — 
Ann E. Fitch, 87 of 45868 Rabbit Hill Rd, Fitchville, Alexandria Bay, NY, died Tuesday January 5, 2010 at Oswego Community Hospital, Oswego, NY.    She had recently been living near her son and daughter-in-law, Don and Mary Fitch, of Oswego.

Ann was born on December 6, 1922, in Syracuse NY, the daughter of Frederick R and Mary T. Wallace Bookman. She graduated from St. Patrick’s High School and attended Powelson Institute of Business, both in Syracuse. 

Ann served in the United Stated Navy during WWII from February 10, 1944 to March 15, 1946, as store-keeper 1st Class. 

She married Robert G. Fitch on May 26, 1948, at St. Patrick’s Church in Syracuse, with Father Robert J. Casey officiating. 

In 1955 Ann and Bob began spending all their summer weekends on the Saint Lawrence River with their family. Upon Bob’s retirement in1986 they moved into their home in Fitchville at Alexandria Bay where they stayed for many wonderful summers. 

Ann worked as secretary clerk for IBM, secretary for Easterbrook Printing, and advertising director for Agway, all of Syracuse, retiring in 1982. 

She is survived by her husband, Robert; two sons, Donald R and his wife, Mary, Oswego NY and Frederick R., of Syracuse; a granddaughter Chelsea M. Fitch of Syracuse; and a sister, Mary C. Dynan, Florida; two brothers, Wallace and David Bookman, died before her.
