Marion F. McGraw

Marion F. McGraw, 89, of Watertown, formerly of Dexter, passed away Thursday evening, May 1, at Hospice of Jefferson County at the Ellis Farm.

Calling hours will be held 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown. A prayer service will be 10:15 a.m. Monday, May 5, at the funeral home followed by the funeral Mass celebrated at Holy Family Church with her nephew, Fr. Donald Robinson, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. John's Cemetery, LaFargeville.

Born June 29, 1924, in Cape Vincent, the daughter of Wilfred E. and Beulah M. Mohan Robinson. She graduated from both St. Mary's Academy, Clayton and the Watertown School of Commerce.

She married Francis H. McGraw on Oct. 2, 1954, at St. John's Church, LaFargeville with Rev. Howard McCassland officiating. Mr. McGraw died April 17, 1985.

Before her marriage she worked at Pine Camp, Jefferson County Probation Dept., and for the NYS Dept. of Health. After her marriage she was a medical secretary for Drs. Sturtz and Brown, worked in the registration office at the House of the Good Samaritan, and retired as a medical secretary, working for Drs. Perciaccante and Reimer.

Marion was a communicant of Holy Family Church and formerly of St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Dexter. She was a member of the Legion of Mary, Altar & Rosary Society, Precious Blood Monastery Auxiliary, St. Joseph Cupertino Franciscan Order, and a professed member of the Secular Order of St. Francis. 

She was devoted to her children and their families and volunteered at Samaritan Medical Center and Samaritan Keep Home.

Surviving are a son and his wife, John J. and Donna McGraw, Pillar Point; two daughters, Maureen P. Williams, Dexter and Susan M. Hasselbalch, Watertown; five granddaughters, two great granddaughters, and five great grandsons; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Robinson, LaFargeville and Katherine McGraw, Watertown; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Besides her husband, Francis, she was predeceased by her daughter, Nancy E. McGraw, February 13, 1990, and her brother, Harry E. Robinson, January 1993.
