Robert F. Beach
F. "Poncho" Beach, 85, of Burchard Street, Watertown, passed away Monday, Dec. 26, at his
residence where he was under the care of his family and
Hospice of Jefferson County following
a lengthy illness.
funeral will be 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at Reed & Benoit
Funeral Home. Calling
hours are 4 to 6 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral
home. Spring burial
will be in North Watertown Cemetery.
He was born Oct. 16, 1931, in Watertown, a son to Robert
J. and Margaret Mahon Beach.
He worked construction for Union Local #322,
Watertown, working for many years on various jobs to include
the construction of the State Office Building in Watertown,
serving as foreman on that job.
Poncho married Marilyn Fleming in 1950.
She passed in 1963. He
married Lillian Woodhouse in 1965.
Poncho loved playing cards.
He was a former member of the North Side Improvement
League and volunteered at the Volunteer Center in Watertown.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian; a son, Robert (Esther)
Beach, Florence, SC; two daughters, Suzanne (Franklin)
Roberts, and Robin (Joseph) Hadley, all of Watertown; a step
daughter, Cindy Massey, Watertown;
10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and a great
great-grandchild; four brothers Arthur, Ohio, Donald,
Theresa, Thomas, California, and Gary Watertown; four
sisters, Joyce Montondo, Joyce Putnam, Ruth Countryman and
Sandy Roberts, all of Watertown; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a daughter Roxanne at age 8 months, a
son Robby at birth, and a sister Nancy Thomas.
