H. Oatridge, 93, passed away Monday, Feb. 6, at the
Samaritan Keep Nursing Home where she had resided since 2013.
The funeral service will be 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9,
at Reed & Benoit Funeral Home with Rev. Leon
“Toby” Schilling officiating. Spring burial will be held
at the families’ convenience in North Watertown Cemetery.
Calling hours will precede the service from 2 to 4 p.m. at
the funeral home.
Born April 11, 1923 in Henderson, a daughter to James and
Viola Rogers Breese, she was educated locally, and graduated
from Henderson Central School.
She married Charles E. Oatridge, who predeceased her.
Edith worked as the coffee shop manager for Sears &
Robuck for several years. She also worked as a waitress at
Howard Johnson’s, a sales clerk at TJ Newberry, and a
clerk at F. W. Woolworth. She was a member of the VFW Ladies
Auxiliary, and the Chapter 19 Auxiliary Commander of the
Disabled American Veterans.
Surviving are her four children, Sandra J. and John Pepe,
Charles E. Jr. and Linda Oatridge, Kenneth and Diane
Oatridge, Gary and Sue Oatridge; as well as 10
grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and six great- great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Charles, she was predeceased by her
siblings, Edna Perfetto, Marion Cummings, Ida Seaman,
Herbert Breese, James “Jim” Breese.
