Joseph Derrigo, 41, of Stone Road, Dexter, passed away
unexpectedly Tuesday, Feb. 7, in Johnson City, NY.
The prayer service will
be 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, at Reed & Benoit Funeral
Home, Watertown. Calling hours are noon to 3 p.m. Sunday
prior to the service. A gathering will follow the service at
the VFW on Bellew Avenue, Watertown.
Bill was born in Rochester, NY, July 27, 1975, a son to
Dorothy LaFave Derrigo and Michael Derrigo. He graduated
from General Brown High school in 1993. He furthered his
education at Barons Institute in Windsor, CT.
Bill was a welder and pipe fitter, working for Hyde-Stone,
Lawman’s Construction and was currently working for
Wilkens Mechanicals of Syracuse at the time of his passing.
He enjoyed racing go-carts with his son Kyler, attending his
sons wrestling matches,ice fishing, snowmobiling, and
attending Kyler’s football and lacrosse games.
He is survived by his mother, Dorothy “Dot” Derrigo,
Dexter; his father, Michael Derrigo, Cape Vincent; two sons,
Gavin, Kyler and their mother, Grace; his twin brother,
Steven Derrigo and his companion Kim Baderman, Rodman; two
sisters, Sophia (Dan) Putnam, Smithville, and Maria
(Brendan) Geiss, Syracuse; nieces and nephews Mariah,
Alexis, Adrianna, Izzy, Ryan and Kennedy; aunts, uncles and
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Frederick and Mary
LaFave, Peter and Carol Derrigo, a cousin, Michael LaFave,
and two aunts, Sharon Graban and Joan Bennett.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the
Juvenile Diabetes Association.
Memorial contributions for the education fund
established for Gavin and Kyler can be made to the Derrigo
Kovalik Trust Fund c/o Watertown Savings Bank.
