Violet May Fyles

WATERTOWN, NY  —  The funeral service for Violet May Fyles will be 3 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home with Rev. D. Krieghbam officiating. Burial will be held in the spring in Brookside Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Violet, known affectionatelty as “Nana”, passed away Tuesday, March 14, at her daughter's home in Newcastle, PA. She was 91.

Born Nov. 15, 1925, in Baden, NY, she would be the oldest of 12 siblings to Walter and Dorothy Wells Madigan. 

She married Walter Fyles in 1955. Mr. Fyles passed away in February 1966.

Violet owned and operated Watertown’s Christian Supply Center on Court Street. She was a very active member of Watertown Assembly of God, and taught Sunday school for several years.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Charles Rudesill, of Pennsylvania; two step-daughters, Janice LaBreck annd Shirley Barone; four siblings, Paul Madigan, Cinda Rosillo, Nancy Robbins, Sue Tryon; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, Walter, she was predeceased by several siblings.
