CARTHAGE, NY  ó  Howard Gene Hallenback, Sr., 74, of 29 Overlook Ave., Newton Falls, NY, and formerly of Carthage, died Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at the SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. He moved to Newton Falls and lived with his daughter Janet after his retirement.   

He was born March 5, 1943, in Norwich, NY, the son of Clyde and Dorothy Hallenback.

Mr. Hallenhack
married Betty Champion, she died in 1993.

He worked for Braemanís manufacturing in Carthage and then for a plastic factory in Texas.

He is survived by several children, Mary (David) Fetie, Potsdam; Tina (Mike) Delong, Carthage; Janet (Gery) Beirman, Newton Falls; Howard (Anita) Hallenbeck Jr., Norwich; Christine (Roger) Tiff, Vermont; and a step-daughter, Brandy Hart. He is also survived by several siblings, Roger, Gerald, Marion, and Joyce; and 14 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He loved watching WWE wrestling/

Calling Hours will be held 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 14, at Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage.
