Oswego Sheriff’s Office blotter May 22

On 5/16/18 at 6:53 a.m., Jacob D. Benson, 31, of 585 CR 3, Fulton, NY was charged with AUO, 2nd degree and Speeding following a traffic stop on Rathburn Rd. in the Town of Granby reportedly initiated after patrol confirmed the vehicle’s speed with radar.  Mr. Benson is scheduled to answer the charges on 6/4/18 in the Town of Granby Court.

On 5/17/18 at 6:57 p.m., Richard B. Halstead Jr., 23, of 2221 CR 6, Fulton, NY was arrested at his residence based on a Felony Bench Warrant issued out of Oswego County Court and a Bench Warrant issued out of Fulton City Court.  Mr. Halstead was transported to the Fulton City Police Dept. for further processing.

On 5/21/18 at 11:16 a.m., Joseph M. Deforge, 43, of 91 East 4th Street, Oswego, NY was arrested for Criminal Contempt, 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor stemming from incidents that occurred from 5/11/18-5/16/18 in the Town of Scriba where he allegedly attempted to contact the victim of which has an active order of protection filed against him.  Mr. Deforge is scheduled to answer the charge on 6/7/18 in the Town of Scriba Court.

On 5/21/18 at 5:57 p.m., Jacob G. Springer, 20, of 3953 SR 104, Mexico, NY was arrested for Criminal Contempt, 1st degree, a class E felony; Menacing, 3rd degree, a class B misdemeanor and Menacing, 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor following the investigation into a domestic incident that occurred in the Town of Mexico where he verbally threatened physical harm, while holding a knife, toward one victim and then to one of which has an active order of protection filed against him.  Mr. Springer was arraigned in the Town of Mexico Court and remanded to the OCJ in lieu of $1,000 cash or $2,000 bond with a return to court on 5/29/18. During the investigation, Mr. Springer was charged with AUO, 3rd degree after he was reportedly observed operating a vehicle.  Mr. Springer was arraigned in the Town of Mexico Court and is scheduled to return on 5/22/18.

On 5/21/18 at 10:50 p.m., Grant P. Broadwell, 43, of 2030 CR 1, Oswego, NY was arrested for DWI; Fleeing an Officer in MV, 3rd degree, a class A misdemeanor; Refusal to Take Breath Test; Speeding; Failure to Stop at STOP Sign; Failure to Signal; Failure to Dim Lights and No Headlights following the investigation into a hit and run property damage accident that occurred on Creamery Rd. in the Town of Scriba.  Mr. Broadwell was arraigned in the Town of Scriba Court and remanded to the OCJ in lieu of $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond with a return to court on 5/24/18.
