Police seize heroin, cash and gun in raid of Pamelia apartment

Members of the Metro-Jeff Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on Friday, May 18, at 22033 US Route 11, apt. 1, in the town of Pamelia while being assisted by members of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office including their SERT team, Watertown Police Department SRT, road patrol and ID units as well as NYSP CNET.

The apartment was unoccupied at the time of entry, police said. The sole occupant of the apartment had left in a vehicle just prior to the entry and was stopped by patrols on Bronson Street in the city of Watertown, police said.

The search warrant was signed by Pamelia Town Justice Anthony J. Casselman.

At the conclusion of the search warrant the following items were seized from the apartment, according to police:

  • $936.00 in US currency including an electronic money counter.

  • 9 grams of heroin.

  • Digital scales and packaging material.

  • One loaded handgun.

During this investigation information was developed the apartment was being used as part of an illegal drug operation, police said.

Arrested as a result of this investigation:

  • Desiron J. Robertson, 30, residing at this location, was charged with one count of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance

Robertson was arraigned before Pamelia Town Justice Casselman and remanded to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building with bail set at $20,000 cash.

As this investigation continues, additional charges are pending, police said.
