Pair Accused of Stealing Purse at Artie's Tavern

WATERTOWN, N.Y.    A man and woman are accused of stealing a purse from a patron Thursday evening at Artie's Tavern, 329 High St., according to Watertown police.

Stephen J. Gilligan, 29, of 194 Cedar St., Apt. 1, and Kimberlee Mae Trainham, 32, of 245 N. Rutland St., were each charged with fourth-degree grand larceny.

Police said the purse belonged to Margaret Kuzebski, 506 Jefferson St., and contained $60 cash and a debit card. 

Both await prosecution in City Court.


   


2 Men Accused of Shoving Watertown Police Officers During Traffic Stop

WATERTOWN, N.Y.    Two men were arrested by Watertown police at 1:35 p.m. Thursday after a traffic stop in the 100 block of Moulton St. 

Dimetreus A. Dial, 20, of 9200 General Brown Loop, Apt. C, Fort Drum, was charged with second-degree harassment, resisting arrest, operating an unregistered and uninspected vehicle, having no insurance, and a plate display violation. He is accused of grabbing patrolman Patrick M. Lyon by his shoulders, police said.

Frederick G. Harrell, 21, of 915 Academy St., Apt. 2, Watertown, is facing charges of second-degree harassment, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Police said he yelled obscenities at three officers and shoved patrolwoman C.N. Fuhrman in her chest causing her to lose balance and fall backward. He also allegedly struggle with officers while being arrested, they said.

Both men were being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on $500 police bail pending arraignment Friday morning in City Court.


   


Teen Accused of Possessing Controlled Substance

WATERTOWN, N.Y.    Kailey C. Billings, 16, of 234 Michigan Ave., was charged by Watertown police at 12:33 a.m. Friday with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Police said she possessed two pentazocine pills and a hydrocodone pill in a drawer in her night stand in a prescription bottle listed in the name of another person.

She was being held at the Mtero-Jefferson Public Safety Building on $250 police bail pending arraignment Friday morning in City Court.
