14 Motorists Facing Driving While Intoxicated Charges

The following motorists are charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses:

Robert C. Copestick II, 42, of 543 LeRay St., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 11:10 p.m. Wednesday with felony aggravated DWI, third-offense DWI, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and unsafe lane change. Police allege he was traveling east in the 100 block of E. Main Street when his went off the right side of the roadway on a sidewalk for about 35 feet before striking a National Grid ornamental light pole causing it to fall to the ground at about 10:07 p.m. Wednesday. He then allegedly fled the scene on foot and was arrested at his residence, police said. His blood alcohol content was 0.18 percent, police said. A BAC level of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law. Aggravated DWI, which carries a harsher sentence upon conviction, is charged when the blood alcohol content is 0.18 percent or more. He was being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment Thursday morning in City Court.

Brandon R. Kutil, 24, of 12 High St., Adams, was charged by state police at 1:25 a.m. Thursday on W. Church Street in Adams with DWI. His BAC was 0.08 percent, troopers said. He was also cited with failure to maintain proper lane and having no front license plate. 

Forrest Dodd, 27, of 620 S. Washington St., Carthage, was charged with felony DWI and endangering the welfare of a child. The DWI charges was elevated to a felony under Leandra's Law, a state law that went into effect on Dec. 18, which increases the severity of the charges for endangering a child while driving drunk. Troopers said he had a 3-year-old passenger in his vehicle. His BAC was unavailable.

Kaitlyn M. Fuller, 21, of 820 Parham St., Carthage, was charged by Jefferson County sheriff's deputies at 11:21 p.m. Wednesday on Route 11 in the town of LeRay with DWI and driving across hazard markings. Her BAC 0.13 percent, deputies said. 

Ms. Fuller was previously charged by Watertown police at 2:21 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, in the 300 block of N. Massey Street with aggravated DWI, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, failure to stop at a red light and obstructing an intersection. Police said her blood alcohol content was 0.21 percent. Ms. Fuller's license was revoked on March 1, 2009, according to court documents. She posted $250 bail and is summoned to appear Feb. 9 in City Court.

Cameron Carter, 41, Copenhagen, was charged by Lewis County sheriff's deputies at 8:57 p.m. Wednesday in the town of Montague with aggravated DWI after being found stopped on the side of Gardner Road with his hazard lights activated. His BAC was 0.21 percent, deputies said. He was also cited with unlicensed operation.

Amber C. Hedger, 24, of 14 High St., Adams, was charged by Jefferson County sheriff's deputies at 3:59 a.m. Wednesday on Route 11 in the town of Watertown with aggravated DWI after the 2002 Chevy sedan she was operating went off the roadway and struck a utility pole. She was also charged with unreasonable speed, driving across hazard markings and unlicensed operation. Her BAC was 0.20 percent, deputies allege.

Derek J. Dwyer, 24, of 17120 County Route 53, Dexter, Lot 58A, was charged by Jefferson County sheriff's deputies at 3:08 a.m. Jan. 31 on County Route 53 in the town of Brownville with aggravated DWI. His BAC was 0.20 percent, deputies said. 

Michael S. Pingrin, 28, of 49 Waggoner Road, town of Richland, was charged by state police at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday at Demott Street and Harwood Drive in Lacona with DWI. His BAC was 0.14 percent, troopers said. He was additionally charged with driving without a license and having inadequate lights.

Michael L. Reff, 29, of 310 Prospect St., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police with DWI and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle after the 1990 Pontiac he was operating struck the marble base of the Roswell P. Flower Statue in the 200 block of Washington Street at about 2:10 a.m. Tuesday. Police said a piece of marble became lodged underneath the car. His blood alcohol content was 0.16 percent, police said. A BAC level of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law. He is to answer the charges Feb. 19 in City Court.

Caitlin A. Davis, 23, Hammond, was charged by Jefferson County sheriff's deputies at 11:23 p.m. Monday in the southbound lane of Interstate 81 in the town of Pamelia with DWI in connection with an accident. Deputies said her 2009 Honda went off the left side of the highway and overturned in the median. Ms. Davis toled deputies she swerved to avoid hitting a deer and lost control. She was taken to Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, by Evans Mills Ambulance complaining of back pain. A blood sample was taken at the hospital to determine her BAC, according to police documents.

Sherry L. Birdslow, 41, Sandy Creek, was charged by state police at 12:28 a.m. Wednesday on N. Main Street in Sandy Creek with aggravated DWI. Her BAC was 0.20 percent, troopers said. 


Patricia M. Cullinan, 59, of 11 Little Bow Rd., Gouverneur, was charged by state police at 5:41 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, on Route 11 in the town of Gouverneur with DWI and failure to keep right. Her blood alcohol content was 0.21 percent, police said. Troopers said she was observed to the left of the roadway's center line. She was arraigned in Gouverneur Town Court and sent to the St. Lawrence County jail with bail set at $500 cash. 

Richard M. Becker, 23, of School House Road, Clayton, was charged by state police at 4:05 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, on Military Road in the town of Hounsfield with felony DWI and failure to keep right. Troopers said the charge is a felony due to a previous DWI conviction within the past 10 years. His BAC was 0.16 percent, troopers said.  

Patrick A. Brown, 40, 24 1/2 Champion St., West Carthage, was charged by state police at 6:50 p.m. Saturday on Boyd Road in the town of Wilina with DWI. His BAC was 0.10 percent, troopers said. He is to answer the charges in Wilna Town Court. 



The following motorists were charged with driving while ability impaired:

Evi C. Morrison, 22, of 217 Flower Ave. W., Watertown, was charged by state police at 2:15 a.m. Sunday on Route 3 in the town of Pamelia with driving while ability impaired. Trooper said his BAC was 0.07 percent. He is to answer the charges in Pamelia Town Court.
