Police Blotter Report:

Gregory M. Maurer, 61, of 10926 Route 26, Carthage, was charged by Jefferson County sheriff's deputies at 3:50 p.m. Thursday on Bridge Street in West Carthage with driving while intoxicated, speeding 72 mph in a 55-mph zone, refusal to take a breath test, driving across a hazard marking, improper passing and failure to comply. Deputies said Mr. Maurer was observed speeding on Route 26 west of the hamlet of Champion. After the deputy activated his patrol car's emergency lights, Mr. Maurer pulled onto the shoulder but kept driving at 35 mph half on the shoulder and half in the driving lane, according to police papers. Maurer then put his hand out his window and motioned for the deputy to pass him and continued driving at between 35 and 45 mph on the shoulder until reaching McDonald's where he immediately jumped out of his vehicle and walked towards the restaurant where he was arrested after being allowed to use the restroom at which time a strong odor of alcohol was detected, deputies said. He refused to submit to a breath test. He was previously convicted of driving while ability impaired on Jan. 29, 2009, deputies said. Maurer is summoned to appear Nov. 8 in Champion Town Court.

Zakary T. Bell, 22, of 10214 N. Riva Ridge Loop, Fort Drum, was charged by Watertown police at 2:32 a.m. Friday with second-degree attempted assault, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and resisting arrest. He is accused of punching Travis P. Berkman, Clayton, while wearing metal knuckles on his hand in an attempt to cause physical injury at about 2:30 a.m. Friday at Fatboy's Tavern, 743 Huntington St., police said. He also allegedly pulled his hands underneath his body after being told to put his hands behind his back while officers were attempting to arrest him, they said. He was being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment Friday morning in City Court. 

Anthony L. Frezzo II, 20, of 22665 Lewis St., Glen Park, was charged by Watertown police at 2:32 a.m. Friday at Fatboy's Tavern, 743 Huntington St., with second-degree harassment. It is allege he intentionally struck the left of patrolman McKeever during an altercation at the bar at about 2:37 a.m. Friday, police said. He is summoned to appear Oct. 30 in City Court.

Aaron R. Lolar, 27, of 926 Remington St., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 1:41 a.m. Friday at his residence with two counts of third-degree assault. He is accused of repeatedly striking and kicking Anthony G. Sparks, Watertown, causing him to lose consciousness, and threw Jennifer Mercante to the ground and struck her in the face at about 2:00 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at Mick's Pace, 204 Factory St., police said. He was being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment Friday morning in City Court. 

Justin A. Tanner, 22, of 31097 Route 11, Philadelphia, was charged by Watertown police at 11:35 p.m. Thursday in the 700 block of Huntington Street with fourth-degree criminal mischief. Mr. Tanner allegedly "broke the top horizontal support of a chain link fence belonging to Julie Massey at 641 Burchard St. by kicking it repeatedly, grabbing it and shaking it," at about 11:20 p.m. Thursday, according to court documents. He was being held on $250 police bail at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment Friday morning in City Court. 

Michael R. Robinson, 28, of 19251 Woodside Dr., Watertown, was arrested on a parole warrant at 10:40 a.m. Thursday while being arraigned at City Court on previous charges, according to Watertown police. He was charged at 12:26 a.m. Thursday in the 600 block of Emerson Street with two counts of second-degree menacing. Mr. Robinson is accused of threatening two women, Brittany A. Smith and Ingrid L. Hampton, both of Watertown, with a knife at about 11:50 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of State Place, police said. He is being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building. 

Joshua M. Belden, 27, of 802 Franklin St., Apt. 3, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 10:16 p.m. Wednesday at 247 Franklin St. with disorderly conduct and unlawful possession of marijuana. It is alleged he made unreasonable noise in the parking lot of 247 Franklin St. and was yelling derogatory comments towards people on Union Street, police said. He awaits prosecution in City Court. 

Eudes Antonio Perez-Jimenez, 29, of 1440 Quail Dr., Fairfield, Calif., was arrested by Watertown police 6:19 p.m. Thursday at 1220 Arsenal St. on a bench warrant. He was being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment Friday morning in City Court. 

James T. Breece, 18, of 320 Clay St., Apt. A, last known address, Watertown, was arrested at 1:15 a.m. Thursday in Gouverneur on a violation of probation warrant, according to Watertown police.

Lewis O. Rice IV, 33, of 1019 State St., Apt. 1, Watertown, was cited by Watertown police at 11:39 p.m. Thursday in the 400 block of Arsenal Street with aggravated unlicensed operation and having a defective brake light. He was released after posting $250 police bail and is summoned to appear Oct. 16 in City Court.
