MEDIA RELEASE:
On 1/28/13 at
4:31 p.m., Gregory T. Barcomb, 30, of 116 Wally
Road, North Syracuse, NY was operating a 2003 Mitsubishi
south on SR 481 in the passing lane when he reportedly
lost control of the vehicle causing it to spin around and
strike a 2012 Subaru suburban that was also traveling
south and being operated by Denise F. Dirienzo, 46, of
2434 Berry Rd., LaFayette, NY. Mr. Barcomb was issued
UTT’s for AUO, 3rd degree (suspended on
6/6/12 for Failure to Answer Summons in T/O Clay) and
Failure to Reduce Speed in Special Hazards.
On 2/6/13 at 1:10 p.m., Harold J. Chaplin Jr., 28,
of 58 Ontario St., Oswego, NY was arrested for AUO, 3rd
degree( 5 scoffs on 2 dates, 3x on 10/11/12 for failure to
pay fine in T/O Cicero and 2x on 10/7/11 for failure to
pay fine in T/O West Monroe) and Driving While Using
Mobile Phone following a traffic stop on SR 481 in the
Town of Volney initiated after patrol reportedly observed
him using his cell phone. Mr. Chaplin was released on
UTT’s, returnable to the T/O Volney Court on 2/25/13.
On 2/7/13 at 10:13 a.m., Ruth G. Hernandez, 35, and
Fidel A. Hernandez, 35, both of 19 Waterview Rd. Lot 36
Apt. 36, Oswego, NY were arrested for Criminal Contempt, 1st
degree, a class E felony and Harassment, 2nd
degree following a domestic dispute in the Town of Oswego
when Ruth allegedly threw a cell phone at Fidel and Fidel
pushed Ruth into a wall with both of them having active
orders of protection filed against each other. Mr. and
Mrs. Fernandez were arraigned in Oswego County Court by
Hon. Judge Hafner and remanded to the OCJ in lieu of
$1,000 cash or $2,000 bond with a return to court date of
2/11/13.
On 2/7/13 at 11:39 a.m., Timothy J. Tompkins, 21,
of 717 West Broadway St. Apt. C2, Fulton, NY was arrested
at his residence based on a Family Court Warrant
pertaining to a paternity incident. Mr. Tompkins was
arraigned by Hon. Judge Todd and ROR’d.
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 7,
MEDIA RELEASE:
On 2/2/13 at
7:11 p.m., Joshua J. Gillespy, 39, of 8253 Mantova
Dr., Clay, was operating a 2004 GMC pickup north on Winks
Rd. in the Town of Palermo and when reportedly approached
the intersection with CR 45, collided with a 2011 Kia that
was traveling west on CR 45 thru the intersection and
being operated by Brian V. Cappelletti, 22, of 624 Utica
St., Fulton, NY and registered to Rent A Ride of Fulton,
NY. Mr. Gillespy was issued a UTT for Failure to Yield the
Right of Way. Driver distraction seems to have been a
contributing factor.
On 2/3/13 at 11:30 p.m., Melissa M. Ouderkirk, 24,
of 202 W 4th St. S Apt. 2, Fulton, was arrested
for AUO, third-degree (suspended on 11/1/12 for Failure to
Answer Summons in C/O Fulton Court and 1/25/13 for Failure
to Answer Summons in T/O Granby Court) and Inadequate
Plate Lamp following a traffic stop on SR 3 in the Town of
Hannibal reportedly initiated by the lack of visible plate
lamps. Ms. Ouderkirk was released on UTT’s, returnable
to the Town of Hannibal Court on 2/19/13.
On 2/6/13 at 7:04 a.m., Elaine Marie Evarts, 21, of
27 Merritt Rd., South Glens Falls, was operating a 1996
Nissan west on SR 104 in the Town of Oswego, 75 feet north
east of Perry Hill Rd., when she reportedly lost control
causing the vehicle to spin sideways and collide with a
2004 Pontiac that was traveling behind the Nissan and
being operated by Cassondra M. Taylor, 21, of 10 E 6th
St., Oswego, NY. The Nissan then collided with a 2000
Dodge van that was heading east on SR 104 and being
operated by Mark J. Davis, 27, of 4742 South Street,
Stanley, NY with the vehicle being registered to Rose City
Glass of Canandaigua, NY. Ms. Evarts was issued a UTT for
Failure to Yield the Right Way. Unsafe speed seems to have
been a contributing factor.
On 2/6/13 at 11:15 a.m., Kendrick A. Whelsky, 20,
of 23 Dietrich Rd., Oswego, was arrested for Petit
Larceny, a class A misdemeanor following the investigation
into an incident at the Wal-Mart in the Town of Granby
when he allegedly stole consumable goods along with two
coffee makers. Mr. Whelsky was released on an appearance
ticket, returnable to the Town of Granby Court on 2/25/13.
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 6,
MEDIA RELEASE:
On 2/5/13 at
7:40 a.m., Kathleen J. Barrett, 33, of 48 North
St., Pulaski, was arrested for AUO, third-degree
(suspended on 12/10/11 for Failure to Answer Summons in
T/O Troy), Obstructed Vision and Inadequate Windshield
Wipers following a traffic stop on US Rt. 11 in the
Village of Pulaski initiated after patrol observed her
vehicle with the windshield covered with frost as it was
reportedly traveling on the roadway. Ms. Barrett was
released on UTT’s, returnable to the Town of Richland
Court on 2/25/13.
On 2/5/13 at 1:39 p.m., Thompson Burnswick Jr., 34,
of 169 Lakeshore Rd., Fulton, was arrested at his
residence based on a Bench Warrant issued by Hon. Judge
Hafner, Hannibal Town Court. Mr. Burnswick was arraigned
in Hannibal Town Court and remanded to the OCJ in lieu of
$150 cash with a return to court date of 3/19/13.
On 2/5/13 at 9:53 p.m., Jay W. Fadden, 42, of 2284
CR 8, Oswego, was arrested for Criminal Mischief,
fourth-degree and 3 counts of Endangering the Welfare of a
Child following a domestic dispute in the Town of Minetto
after he allegedly broke the victim’s cell phone during
a verbal and physical altercation. Mr. Fadden was released
on an appearance ticket, returnable to the Town of Minetto
Court on 2/20/13. Stemming from the same incident,
Kristina M. Fadden, 40, of 2284 CR 8, Minetto, was
arrested for 3 counts of Endangering the Welfare of a
Child stemming from the same domestic dispute when the
verbal altercation turned physical. Ms. Fadden was
released on an appearance ticket, returnable to the Town
of Minetto Court on 2/20/13.
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 5,
MEDIA RELEASE:
On 2/2/13 at 9:23 p.m., Pamela
D. Baber, 30, of 432 Peatbed Rd., Hannibal, was
arrested for AUO, 3rd degree (10/12/09 for
Insurance Lapse x 2, 3/9/10 for failure to answer a
summons T/O Minetto, and 7/23/10 for failure to pay a fine
T/O Granby), No License and Operating a MV w/o Inspection
Certificate following a traffic stop on East Broadway St.
in the City of Fulton while patrol was reportedly
conducting a DWI checkpoint. Ms. Baber was released on
UTT’s, returnable to the City of Fulton Court on
2/14/13.
On 2/2/13 at 8:15 a.m., Sherry Lyn Watts, 32, of
112 West 3rd Street North, Apt 2, Fulton, was
arrested for AUO, 2nd degree (10/07/2012
failure to pay fine Onondaga County T/O Clay, 05/31/2012
failure to answer summons T/O Schroeppel, 05/06/2012
failure to answer summons T/O Schroeppel, 02/09/2012
failure to pay fine Onondaga County T/O Clay), Operating
an Unregistered Vehicle (expired on 7/16/12) and Operating
a MV w/o Inspection Certificate following a traffic stop
on East Broadway St. in the City of Fulton during a DWI
checkpoint. Ms. Watts was released on UTT’s, returnable
to the City of Fulton Court on 2/14/13.
On 2/4/13 at 7:40 a.m., James D. Garofalo, 39, of
CR 21, Bldg. 521, Hannibal, was arrested for AUO, 3rd
degree(4 scoffs on 7/10/11 for failure to answer summons
in Onondaga County, V/O North Syracuse); Failure to Yield
the Right of Way; No License and Unsafe Tires following
the investigation into a two vehicle property damage
accident on SR 3 at the intersection with CR 8 in the Town
of Granby when he was reportedly traveling east on SR 3
when the signal light turned red and he couldn’t stop
his vehicle, a 1998 Ford suburban causing it to collide
with a 2008 Chevrolet pickup being operated by Joshua S.
Shatrau, 25, of 144 Bingham Rd., Oswego, NY of which was
traveling north on CR 8 and entered the intersection. Mr.
Garofalo was issued UTT’s, returnable to the T/O Granby
Court on 2/25/13.
On 2/4/13 at 12:57 p.m., Jessie E. Loomis, 35, of
175 Lee Rd., Mexico, was arrested for Registration
Suspended(suspended for insurance lapse on 12/20/12) and
Operating a MV w/o Inspection Certificate following a
traffic stop on SR 104 in the Town of Mexico initiated by
the expired inspection certificate. Mr. Loomis was
released on UTT’s, returnable to the Town of Mexico
Court on 2/26/13.
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 4,
MEDIA RELEASE:
On 1/27/13, John N.
Capolla, 41, of 6 Baldwig Road, Pulaski, was operating
a 2001 Honda on US Rt. 11 in the Town of Richland
at 9:43 a.m. when he collided with a 2010 Toyota driven by
Cynthia A. Pugh, 74, of 6897 S. Taft Rd., A2, E. Syracuse,
NY. The incident occurred as Mr. Capolla attempted to make
a left turn onto CR 28. Ms. Pugh was stopped at the stop
sign on CR 28 at the intersection of US Rt. 11 at the time
of the incident. View obstruction appears to have been a
contributing factor with Mr. Capolla reportedly indicating
there was frost on the inside of his windshield. Mr.
Capolla was issued a ticket for Driver’s View
Obstructed.
On 1/29/13, Kimberly M. Galloway, 30, of 1978 CR 2,
Orwell, NY, was operating a 2003 Hyundai northbound on
I-81 in the Town of Mexico at 4:43 p.m. one mile north of
Exit 34, when, while attempting to pass a northbound 2005
tractor trailer driven by Jacques Dube, 61, of 28 Rue
Beausejour, Notre Dame, DuNord, Quebec, Canada, she lost
control, colliding with the rear left side of the trailer
causing her vehicle to spin around 360 degrees. Her
vehicle then struck the trailer a second time causing her
vehicle to exit the west side of the roadway before coming
to rest in a snow embankment. Ms. Galloway’s vehicle
reportedly struck underneath the trailer during the second
collision. Ms. Galloway was transported by ambulance to
the Samaritan Medial Center in Watertown. Unsafe speed and
slippery pavement appear to have been contributing factors
in the incident with roads reportedly wet from rain.
On 2/01/13 at 7:57 a.m., Korisa M. Pritchard, 24,
of 204 Demass Road, Oswego, was operating a 2012 Chevrolet
southbound on SR 481 in the Town of Schroeppel when she
reportedly lost control and collided with the rear end of
another southbound 2009 Chevrolet driven by Elaine M.
Farley, 54, of 5350 SR 104, Lot 28, Oswego, NY. The
incident occurred at Exit Ramp 14 as Ms. Farley was
beginning to turn onto SR 481. Slippery pavement appears
to have been a contributing factor in the incident with
road conditions reportedly covered with snow and ice at
the time. Ms. Farley was transported by ambulance to the
Oswego Hospital.
On 2/01/13 at 9:36 a.m., Tommy L. Coe, 43, of 1221
CR 85, Lot C, Hannibal, was arrested for Criminal
Mischief, Fourth Degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a
Child, both class A misdemeanors, stemming from an
incident that occurred on 1/29/13 at a neighboring
residence when he reportedly engaged in a physical
altercation with a neighbor while in the presence of a
child. During that incident he was further accused of
causing damage to the interior of the neighbor’s home,
where he had been an invited guest. Mr. Coe was issued
appearance tickets returnable to Town of Hannibal Court on
2/26/13.
On 2/01/13 at 5:51 p.m., Kendrick A. Whelsky, 20,
of 23 Dietrich Road, Oswego, was arrested for Petit
Larceny, a class A misdemeanor, after he allegedly took
two Blue Tooth devices, a Kero Heater, and two cases of
beer from the Wal-Mart store located in the Town of Granby
and attempted to remove the items from the store without
paying for them. Ms. Whelsky was issued an appearance
ticket and is scheduled to answer the charge before Town
of Granby Court on 2/14/13.
On 2/01/13 at 9:44 p.m., Pamela A. Tooley, 42, of
PO Box 239, Sterling, was arrested for Driving While
Intoxicated and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated,
stemming from the investigation into a disabled vehicle
that was found stopped in the southbound lane of SR 176 in
the Town of Hannibal. Ms. Tooley was issued tickets and is
scheduled to appear before Town of Hannibal Court on
2/05/13 to answer the charges.
On 2/02/13 at 12:03 a.m., Tricia M. Barnes, 20, of
843 Parkside Avenue, Schenectady, NY, was operating a 2005
Mercury southbound on SR 3 in the Town of Richland when
she lost control causing the vehicle to exit the west side
of the roadway and
strike a wooden marker post, a wooden post/power outlet,
and a tree. The incident occurred 1/10 of a mile north of
Ivens Road. She reportedly lost control while attempting
to move closer to the shoulder of the roadway due to an
approaching vehicle that was close to her lane of travel.
Slippery pavement appears to have been another
contributing factor with roads reportedly covered with
slush at the time. Ms. Barnes, the sole occupant, was
transported by ambulance to the Oswego Hospital.
On 2/02/13 at 6:45 p.m., Jami L. Keding, 19, of 95
Mill Street, Hannibal, was operating a 2004 Chevrolet
westbound on CR 85 in the Town of Hannibal when she
reportedly lost control 5/10 of a mile west of Rathburn
Road. The vehicle slid off the roadway, struck a snow
embankment, and overturned. Slippery pavement and unsafe
speed appear to have been contributing factors. Ms. Keding
was issued tickets for Failure to Reduce Speed While
Approaching an Intersection and Aggravated Unlicensed
Operation, Third Degree (license suspended on 11/17/12 for
failure to answer a summons in the Town of Hannibal. She
was released on tickets returnable to Town of Hannibal
Court on 2/12/13.
On 2/02/13 at 8:25 p.m., Alexander M. Snow, 19, of
507 Ontario St., Fulton, was arrested for Driving While
Intoxicated and Driving With .08 of One Percent or More of
Alcohol, after he drove into a STOP-DWI checkpoint that
was established on State Route 104 in the City of Oswego.
Mr. Snow was released on tickets returnable to Oswego City
Court on 2/28/2013.
On
2/03/13 at 11:12 p.m., Angela J. Nelson, 52, of 60
S. Jefferson St., Mexico, was arrested for Criminal
Obstruction of Breathing/Blood Circulation, a class A
misdemeanor, and Harassment, Second Degree, a violation,
stemming from a
domestic incident during which she allegedly placed her
hand on the neck of an adult female victim, making it
difficult for the victim to breath. Ms. Nelson was
released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear
before Town of Mexico Court on 2/12/2013.
