Police Blotter Report:

Jefferson County Sheriff's Department:

Charles E. Taylor, 49, of 8811 County Route 5, Three Mile Bay, was charged by Jefferson County sheriff's deputies at 7:27 p.m. Friday on Route 12E in the town of Lyme with driving while ability impaired by drugs. Deputies said they responded to a report of an erratic driver and located Mr. Taylor exiting a bank in Chaumont. Deputies wrote, "defendant admitted to taking prescription medications prescribed to his wife which included Siboxin," and stated he operated a 1998 black Chevrolet Malibu from his residence to the bank. He was taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building where he was processed and tested by a drug recognition expert, according to police papers. He is summoned to appear June 3 in Lyme Town Court.


State Police:

Andrew L. Nichols, 22, Fort Drum, was charged by state police at 2:18 a.m. Saturday on Route 11 in the town of Pamelia with driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right and no license. His blood alcohol content was 0.11 percent, troopers said. A BAC of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law. He is summoned to appear in Pamelia Town court.

Robert P. Forsythe, 28, Castorland, was charged by state police at 1:07 a.m. Saturday on Route 126 in the town of Croghan with driving while intoxicated. His BAC was unavailable from state police Saturday morning. He is summoned to appear in Croghan Town Court. 



Watertown Police Department: 

Yemisi R. Smith, 29, of 25 Emerson Place, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 4:25 p.m. Friday at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building with endangering the welfare of a child. It is alleged she struck a 4-year-old boy with a phone charging cord on the back of his legs as a form of discipline at about 3:30 a.m. Feb. 26 at her home, according to court documents. She is summoned to appear May 28 in City Court.   

Randal K. Stewart Jr., 26, of 138 W. Main St., Apt. 4, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 11:30 p.m. Friday on Fort Drum with second-degree criminal contempt. He is accused of violating the terms of a City Court stay-away order of protection when he sent a text message to the protected party, Tiffany Stewart, at about 12:54 p.m. Friday, police said. He was being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment Saturday morning in City Court. 

Leb W. Farless, 43, of 7267 Pine Grove Rd., Glenfield, was charged by Watertown police at 8:14 p.m. Friday at Arby's, 957 Arsenal St., with second-degree aggravated harassment. Police allege Mr. Farless sent Michelle Edick several threatening text messages at about 5:49 p.m. Friday. He was being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment Saturday morning in City Court. 

David Rodriguez, 53, of 661 Bronson St., Apt. 2, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 7:45 p.m. Friday at his residence with second-degree aggravated harassment. He is accused of shoving Russell J. Coleman, 666 Bronson St., causing him to be knocked backward hitting his head and shoulders against the wall behind him at about 5:11 p.m. May 9 at 665 Bronson St., police said. 

Nicholas W. McKnight, 20, of 26005 Route 26, Theresa, was arrested on a violation of probation warrant at 8:20 p.m. Friday, according to the Watertown Police Department. He was being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment Saturday morning in City Court. 

Micah O. Jones, 25, of 82341 Middle Lewis Ave., Fort Drum, was cited by Watertown police at 6:20 p.m. Friday in the 600 block of Mill Street with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and unsafe backing. Police said Mr. Jones was attempting to back into a driveway on Mill Street in a 2006 Dodge pickup truck when he collided with a northbound Ford pickup truck operated by Brian C. Reitz, 42, of 125 Francis St., Watertown, at about 6:01 p.m. Friday. Mr. Reitz stated he was unable to stop and struck the other pickup truck, according to an accident report. No injuries were reported to the drivers or their passengers, Jeffrey D. Hodge, 21, and Cheryl R. Reitz, 40. Mr. Jones was released to military custody and summoned to appear June 5 in City Court.



Riah L. Stevenson, 15, of 143 N. Hamilton St., Watertown, was injured Friday evening while riding a bicycle after being struck by a car in the 500 block of Factory Street, according to Watertown police. James D. Bergmeyer, 32, of 239 Ward St., was exiting the parking lot between Soluri's Pizza and The Chop Shop in a 2010 Toyota sedan when he failed to observe Miss Stevenson westbound on the sidewalk resulting in a collision, according to an accident report. She was taken by Guilfoyle Ambulance to Samaritan Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries, police said. No tickets were issued.
