Police Blotter Report:


Watertown Police Department:

Jonathan P. Simpson, 23, of 1217 Faichney Dr., Apt. 6, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 9:15 a.m. Monday at his apartment with third-degree assault and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation. He is accused of punching Marie D. Simpson several times in her face and head with a closed fist and choked her during a domestic incident at about 8:30 a.m. Monday in their apartment, police said. He was being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment Tuesday morning in City Court.

Shari K. B. Tatum, 32, of 206 Franklin St., Apt. 413, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 7:23 p.m. Monday at her residence with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Police allege Ms. Tatum left her two children, ages 9 and 5, unattended in her apartment for over 90 minutes at about 5:02 p.m. Monday. According to court documents, she "allowed the apartment to be unfit for children to live there because of unsafe and unsanitary conditions. The apartment's hallway was full of clutter making it hard to walk down. The floors of the living room and children's bedroom were covered with dirty clothes, garbage and papers. The kitchen had dirty dishes on the stove and in the sink. There a cat litter box next to the stove that was full of cat feces and urine. The air in the apartment had a strong odor of cat urine and feces. The window in the living room was open with no screen on it and they live on the fourth floor." She is summoned to appear Sept. 30 in City Court.

Rhonda J. Thomas
, 33, of 1005 Bronson St., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 11:02 a.m. Monday at her residence with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony. Ms. Thomas is accused of possessing a black 9mm High Point semi-automatic handgun which was defaced and was secreted in her home at about 7:48 p.m. Sept, 13, police said. She was being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment Tuesday morning in City Court.




Jefferson County Sheriff's Department:

New York State Police:

Priscilla G. Booth, 65, Watertown, and Amanda S. Simmons, 25, Watertown, were both charged late Monday night at 26068 County Route 47 in the town of Watertown with petit larceny, according to state police. They are each summoned to appear in town of Watertown Court.
