Randall K. Reese, 66, Watertown

WATERTOWN, NY – Randall Kilmer Reese, 66, of Sherman Street, Waterown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018, at St. Joseph’s Hospital beside his beloved wife, Paula.

Randy was born on Dec. 1, 1951, in Belmont, California, a son of the late Robert Pittman and Ruth (Eckhardt) Reese.

Upon graduation from high school, he attended college for music. Randy was also a very talented musician, playing bass in a band called the 13th Our for many years, forming close brotherly bonds with his bandmates. Randy left the band to pursue his art career. He also attended Barber college and worked at his brother Pitt’s salon before branching out on his own and kept in touch with his music by playing in various bands in the San Francisco area. He was truly multi-talented.

He met his high school sweetheart, Paula at age 16.  They were immediate best friends and even attended the high school prom together before she and her family were relocated due to her father’s retirement from the military. They went their separate ways for many years before reconnecting through the computer in 2010 and it was a joyous reunion!  They were married on October 8, 2011, on Paula’s parents’ anniversary. Paula & Randy have happily enjoyed each other’s company for seven years and were truly blessed by a deep love and appreciation of one another. They were always so happy just to be together.

Randy had a kind and gentle spirit, a brilliant mind and a sharp wit. He could make anybody laugh. Along with his art and music, he loved antique cars. At one point, he was an antique car dealer, and he and Paula also followed Formula 1 racing with great interest and pleasure. In his younger years he loved surfing and skiing. In fact, he met Paula by running her over with his surfboard!

He is survived by his soulmate, Paula; two stepdaughters, Jenifer Anderson of Henderson, NY, and Emily Duso, Watertown, NY; a brother, Robert Pittman Reese Jr., San Mateo, CA; a foster brother, John Vestman, Garden Grove, CA; two nieces, Megan Reese Savage and Julie Reese Navarro of San Mateo, CA; and his 13thour band of brothers, Chris Gomez of Newport Beach, CA; Doug Colter of Anchorage, AK; and Kerry Chester of Huntington Beach, CA.
