Raymond G. House, 78, Carthage

CARTHAGE, NY — Raymond G. House, 78, formerly of Champion Street, Carthage, passed away on June 27, 2018, at The Carthage Center formerly known as Country Manor, where he had been a resident since 2008.

He was born June 18, 1940, in the town of Pamelia to his late mother Nellie Watts and his late father and stepmother, George W. and Veronica M. Davis House. He attended Alexandria Bay Central School.

Ray worked as an aide at Whispering Pines Nursing Home as well as a cook at Thousand Island Club.  He worked at various local farms, as a Milk Hand and Borden’s Cheese Factory and his last place of employment before retiring in 2000 was at Indian River School District as a custodian.

Ray enjoyed many hobbies such as playing guitar, playing cards, fishing and collecting Disney movies. He loved watching looney toon cartoons.

He loved his family dearly and enjoyed the time he got to spend with them.

Ray is survived by his three daughters and one son, Michelle Rae, Watertown; Shainey Rae, Pillar Point; Angel Rae, and BillyJo House, both of Massachusetts; also survived by three half-sisters, Alma (David) Potocki, Watertown; MaryAnn House, Carthage; Stella Smith House, Dexter; Glen (Sherry) House, Copenhagen; Clifford (Betty) House, Calcium; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held 4 to 8 p.m. July 2, 2018, at the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., 500 State St., Carthage.
