Two Motorists Face DWI, Other Charges

The following motorists were charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses:

George Rivers Jr., 22, of 10510 S. Riva Ridge Loop, Fort Drum, was charged by Jefferson County sheriff's deputies at 6:44 a.m. Wednesday in the town of LeRay.  Deputies responded to a complaint filed by the manager of McDonald's, Calcium, who discovered a motorist passed out in the drive thru lane of the restaurant. His blood alcohol content was 0.09 percent, deputies said.  A level of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law.  He was issued tickets and is to appear in LeRay Town Court on August 22 to answer the charges.

Paul R. Locy II, 43, of 12151 State Route 12E, Chaumont, was charged by state police at about 12:01 a.m. Wednesday after he was observed driving a vehicle with no license plates on the LaFave Rd. in town of LeRay.  His blood alcohol content was 0.18 percent, troopers said.  According to a police report, there were no plates on the car because Mr. Locy was test driving it after performing brake repairs.  Troopers said they smelled a strong odor of alcohol during the traffic stop.  He was also issued tickets for unregistered motor vehicle, unlicensed operation, no insurance and no seat belt.  He is scheduled to appear in LeRay Town Court on August 14 to answer the charges.
