ALEXANDRIA BAY, NY — River Hospital has cleared several important milestones in working toward its Hope + Healing Capital Campaign and building project. The Hospital has received more than $3.4 million in community donations toward their $4 million fundraising goal. Refined plans for the building project were also recently submitted to the Department of Health and are pending approval.
“We have been thrilled and incredibly grateful for the community’s commitment to this campaign so far”, said Stephanie Weiss Executive Director of Development. “With the continued support of our community we plan to be able to reach our $4 million goal by next summer.”
River Hospital also prepared and submitted a proposal for Department of Health review, which is pending approval, and addresses modifications to the project.
After completing a more in-depth review of the clinical requirements resulting in revised spacing needs, the project will now include renovation of the Monticello Hotel for office functions, renovations to the main hospital building, and the construction of a new Medical Office Building on the hospital campus.
“As the project progressed and we continued to refine the structural specifications, it became clear that the Monticello building is better suited to house administrative and financial services instead of patient care operations at this time. As a result, plans have been modified to allow for patient care programs to go into a new medical office building adjacent to the Hospital, in order to best serve our patients,” stated River Hospital CEO, Ben Moore III. “We also believe that this approach strengthens our ability to comply with the grant requirements for this project established by the New York State Department of Health.”
The first phase of the project will be The Monticello renovation, which will begin this fall. The Monticello will house administration, financial services and allow for future growth as needed for the Hospital and the Community.
Community members’ support is sought for the remaining matching portion of the Capital Campaign. Giving can be directed to any one of the service lines effected by the building project, including: Physical Therapy, Behavioral Health, Primary Care or the Emergency Department.
