Eight young anglers fished on "Team Newzjunky" Sunday in the 2008 Take-A-Kid Fishing trip out of Clayton with 1000 Islands Fishing Charters' Capt. Allen Benas and First Mate Dave Goetz. Over the course of the four hour trip the eight anglers landed and released a total of 11 great northern pike ranging in size from 20 to 28 inches.

Championship honors for the largest pike went to 12 year old Billy Capton of Lewiston, NY and Runner-Up honors went to 12 year old Anthony Sad of Evans Mills. The top two anglers received top quality Shimano fishing outfits compliments of Shimano. The rest of the participants received Shakerpeare fishing outfits compliments of the Clayton Lions Club, Colon-Coach American Legion Post and the 1000 Island Bait Store. All anglers received Team Newzjunky T-shirts and T.I. Bait Store caps compliments of Newzjunky and the bait store. Snacks were provided by Gray's Wholesale, Clayton and Pepsi of Watertown.
