Watertown man accused of harassing text messages, phone calls

WATERTOWN, NYJames A. Johnson, 47, of 307 Waltham St., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 11:14 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building with second-degree aggravated harassment.

Mr. Johnson allegedly sent numerous threatening text messages and called 49 times over a couple hours after he was previously asked by Catherine J. Chipp, 47, to stop communicating with her by phone, text and calls, according to court documents.

He was being held pending arraignment Sunday afternoon in City Court.
