Watertown man accused of punching woman, police say

WATERTOWN, NY — William J. Almond, 22, of 323 Sterling St., Apt. 1, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 6:41 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, at 323 Sterling St. with fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment.

Mr. Almond is accused of punching Theadora Moore, 19, several times in her chest and allegedly grabbed her cellphone to prevent her from calling 911 at about 10:20 p.m. Dec. 13 at his residence, according to court documents.

He was being held pending arraignment Tuesday morning in City Court.
