Watertown man allegedly threatened woman, resisted arrest

WATERTOWN, NYJimmy D. Arata, 43, of 550 Coffeen St., Apt. 301, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police on Sunday, June 17, in the 400 block of Coffeen Street with second-degree aggravated harassment and resisting arrest.

Mr. Ararta is accused of harassing Skyler B. Haynes, 26, by “calling her phone and telling her that he would find her and bury her,” according to court documents. “This occurred after the defendant threatened to killer the victim earlier that evening,” police wrote.

He allegedly refused to provide his hands for handcuffing when he pulled his arms away and advised that he was not being arrested at about 9:58 p.m. June 17 in the 400 block of Coffeen Street, police said.

He was being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment Monday morning in City Court.
