Watertown woman accused of biting 8-year-old child, police say

WATERTOWN, NY –Jennifer L. Devine, 23, of 845 Starbuck Ave, Waterown, was charged Wednesday morning Oct. 3  by Watertown police detectives with third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

She was brought to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building for processing and then taken to City Court where she was arraigned before the Hon. Eugene Renzi.

She was released on her own recognizance to return later for further action of the court.

Ms. Devine’s charges are based on an investigation, which showed over the past weekend she intentionally bit an 8-year-old child on the arm causing an injury to include significant bruising, police said.

Detectives were assisted by uniform patrol and Jefferson County Child Protective Services.
