2 seats open on Watertown City School District Board of Education

WATERTOWN, NY —  Petitions for Board of Education candidates seeking placement on the ballot for the May 17, 2022, election will be ready for pick up in the District Clerk’s office during regular business hours (8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. excluding the noon hour) beginning March 14, 2022.

There are two seats open on the Board of Education. Each term is for three-years, effective July 1, 2022.

Qualifications:
a. Candidates must be 18 years of age or older.
b. Candidates must be U.S. citizens.
c. Candidates must be New York State residents and residents of the Watertown City School District for at least one year.
d. Candidates shall not, at the same time, hold the office of board member and any other city office, except policeman or fireman.
e. Candidates must be qualified voters in the Watertown City School District.
Petitions bearing a minimum of 100 valid signatures must be returned no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27, 2022 to the District Clerk’s office at 1351 Washington Street (H. T. Wiley Intermediate School).
