LYONS FALLS, NY —Â Â Charles J. Ward, 21, Lyons Falls, was charged by Lewis County sheriff’s deputies at 6:28 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, on Markham Street in Lyons Falls with driving while intoxicated and several other traffic violations.
His blood alcohol content was 0.11 percent, deputies said. A BAC of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law.
Deputies said Mr. Ward struck a mail box and telephone pole while operating a 2011 Subaru Forester while southbound on Markham Street.
He is summoned to appear in West Turin Town Court at a later date.
