3 charged after traffic stop in Watertown for alleged mobile meth lab, police say

WATERTOWN, NY  — On Wednesday, June 27, at about 3:05 pm, members of the Metro-Jeff Drug Task Force executed a vehicle stop on a blue Dodge Durango in the City of Watertown with the assistance of the Watertown Police road patrol unit.

The vehicle was occupied by Christian J. Kanik (age 20), Joshua W. Gonio (age 34), and Camryn E. LaFlamme (age 18).

Further investigation revealed components and ingredients commonly used in the manufacture of methamphetamine present in the vehicle, police saud. These items were seized and the three occupants were taken into custody without incident.

Mr. Kanik, Mr. Gonio, and Ms. LaFlamme were each charged with one count of Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine in the third-degree, a class D felony. Mr. Gonio is currently under the supervision of the NYS Division of Parole.

All three were arraigned in the Town of Pamelia by the Honorable Judge Kampnich. Ms. LaFlamme was held on $5,000.00 cash bail. Mr. Kanik was held on $10,000.00 cash bail and Mr. Gonio was held without bail.

Members of the Metro-Jeff Drug Task Force were assisted by the Watertown Police Road Patrol unit, the Watertown City Fire Department, and NYSP CCSERT. This investigation is on-going.

Additional arrests and charges are pending.
