Adams man accused of leading Watertown police on vehicle pursuit at speeds over 70 mph

WATERTOWN, NY —  Warren C. Spies, 38, of 11114 Bishop St. Rd., Adams, was charged by Watertown police at 1:06 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building third-degree fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, second-degree obstruction of governmental administration, a misdemeanor, reckless driving, a misdemeanor, no insurance, failure to stop at red light, failure to obey a police officer, failure to notify DMV of an address change, two speeding citations and two failure to stop at a stop sign citations.

Mr. Spies is accused of fleeing from a traffic stop in a 2021 Honda HRV and led police officers on a pursuit through the city at speeds exceeding 70 mph in a 30-mph zone at about 11:21 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, in the 200 block of N. Massey Street, according to court documents.

He is summoned to appear Oct. 5 in City Court.
