Adams man charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs

LOWVILLE, NY —   Steven E. Gleason II, 39, Adams, was charged Thursday afternoon, Nov. 7, 2019, with driving while ability impaired by drugs, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and other traffic violations, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

“Deputies report that Gleason was operating a 2002 Honda CRV north bound on Utica Boulevard at about 12:13 p.m. when a traffic stop was initiated for a traffic violation. Upon further investigation, Gleason appeared to be under the under influence and failed field sobriety tests on scene. Gleason was evaluated by a certified drug recognition expert,” deputies said.

He is summoned to appear in Lowville Village Court at a later date.

Deputies were assisted on the scene by Lowville Police Department and New York State Police.
