THERESA, NY – Aileen E. Mathous, 83, of Creek Road, Theresa, NY. passed away Thursday morning, May 24, 2018, at her home.
Born Aug. 7, 1934, in the town of Alexandria, daughter of Robert B. and Mildred Mae Staie, she was educated in Alexandria Bay schools.
She married Roger M. Mathous on Nov. 7, 1952. Mr. Mathous died Oct. 22, 1980.
Aileen worked for many years as a deli clerk for P&C Food Market in Watertown, retiring in 2007. She enjoyed her pets, riding motorcycles, bowling, line dancing and watching motor cross races.
She is survived by three sons, Randy(Theresa), Waddington, NY, Jefferey(Tammy), Redwood, NY and Shane, Theresa, NY, four daughters, Colleen Papin, LaFargeville, NY, Dawn Bartlett, Watertown, NY, Rene(Cy) Jones, Norfolk, NY, and Holley(Mark) Holder, Redwood, NY, a brother Vernon(Amy) Staie, Theresa, NY and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Brian and Shawn Mathous, three grandchildren, Freedom Sessions, Robert Bartlett, and Heather Chambers, and her longtime companion, Emery Allen.
Calling hours will be 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 27, at Costello Funeral Home, Alexandria Bay. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff McIllrath, officiating. Burial will be at the family’s convenience at Brookside Cemetery, Plessis.
