COPENHAGEN, NY — Allen J. Macierowski, 56, passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at home in Copenhagen, NY. Allen is survived by his father, Matthew Macierowski, his brother Michael Macierowski and sister Eileen Bensle. He also leaves behind his Aunt Jenny and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Allen was born on Sept. 5, 1962, in Hartford, Connecticut, son to Matthew Macierowski and the late Margaret Macierowski, the youngest of 4 siblings. The Macierowski family lived in East Hartland, CT during his childhood and moved to Barnes Corners, NY during his adolescence where he spent most of his adult life.
Similar to his family, Allen felt at home in nature. Allen and Eileen often thought of their childhood home as part of God’s country because it was so beautiful and peaceful. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping as well as camping with family. His love for animals was evident throughout his life as he cared for numerous pets as well as raising chickens and quails.
Allen was a kind soul. Everyone he met was a friend and he loved writing letters to stay in touch and share his joy. His sense of humor lifted you up when you were down. His kindness and spirit will be missed by all that knew him.
There will be a family gathering to celebrate his life, followed by a private burial in Boiling Springs, South Carolina where he will be laid to rest next to his late sister Jerry Ann Macierowski Hoxie, and his late mother Margaret Macierowski.
